NYAKUA USHINDI promotion winners rewarded
Telkom Kenya’s commercial brand Orange in partnership with Samsung Ltd, today held the first Nyakua Ushindi prize giving ceremony to recognize winners of the on-going Nyakua Ushindi promotion at Telkom Plaza. The give-away, the first of three, aims to reward Orange Fixed Plus customers and increase subscription to the service. The promotion, launched in April 2009 offers customers who buy a new Samsung B259 or Samsung B139 handset on the Orange Fixed Plus service the opportunity to win branded merchandise or one of 10 trips to the UK to attend a Chelsea Premier League match and three new Toyota Corolla cars and twelve Tuk Tuks sealed in three monthly prize draws. Speaking during the ceremony Peter Reinartz, Deputy CEO, Telkom Kenya’s commented. “Orange is committed to delivering an enhanced communication experience for its customers by ensuring their easy access to our revolutionary products and services”. Orange Fixed Plus (formerly Telkom Wireless) is Telkom Kenya’s CDMA service and the leading wireless service in Kenya with over 95% market share and extensive national coverage. The service enables customers to have the benefit of a fixed line that can be taken out of the house or office and used like a mobile within the customer’s region. Customers can also roam nationally outside of their region. Benito Lee, Samsung’s managing director, commented. “We are very committed in this partnership with Telkom Kenya to avail the best of technology at the best prizes to every Kenyan across the country.” Commenting on his win, Mr. Thomas Wachira Muga a Nairobi business and family man said that he was delighted to have emerged one of the Tuk Tuks winners and intended to use the new resource to generate more income for his family. The promotion is yet to culminate with two more draws planned before the end of September. In addition to the consumer promotion, dealers and sales teams are being incentivized to hit their promotional targets with a range of prizes including a laptop with free internet, motorbikes, bicycles and a PA system.
